Health Care Facility Consultant

Facility planning consultants enjoy a challenging, dynamic, and supportive environment with excellent benefits and compensation. KSA strives to hire highly skilled individuals who seek a rewarding professional career advising leaders in the health care industry.

KSA’s health care consultants work on multi-dimensional projects that demand functional knowledge and strong analytical, creative problem solving, and interpersonal skills. Strategic facility planning staff members with architectural backgrounds gain early exposure to steering the strategic questions that drive a project’s feasibility: components, size, function, and cost. While KSA is not a design firm — and our consultants have limited input into the technical and aesthetic development of a project — our strategies, master plans, and programs address the big questions, and we are the prime advocates for function and operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interacting at the senior executive level from Day One, working to articulate strategic and tactical issues.
  • Collaborating with client and KSA teams to develop processes and work plans to address issues.
  • Building an understanding of clients’ challenges and possible solutions by performing extensive analyses of marketplace, patient volume, financial, throughput space and other data, and by facilitating problem solving sessions with diverse client groups.
  • Collaborating with client and KSA staff to develop and present findings and recommendations.
  • Developing and sharing subject matter expertise regarding relevant industry segments (e.g., facilities planning, strategic planning, financial analysis, physician relations).
  • Contributing to practice advancement (e.g., recruiting, service development, and evolution of the body of knowledge),

With proven skills and dedication, facility consultants are constantly provided with opportunities to play a larger role in the management of projects, guide other consultants, and work with clients to develop solutions to complicated issues.

Candidate Qualifications

  • MHA, MBA, or an advanced/professional degree in a related discipline such as architecture
  • Two to five years of experience in a health care setting or related environment; experience in finance or strategic management, health care management, facility/operational programming and planning, and/or information technology can be particularly valuable
  • Distinctive academic performance and leadership experience
  • Energy and passion for serving clients, continual learning, professionalism, and personal resilience
  • A desire and willingness to be an eventual owner of the firm
  • Keen problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated quantitative analysis skills
  • Demonstrated verbal and written interpersonal skills; facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Literacy with spreadsheet and presentation software
  • Ability to work in the United States with unlimited work authorization
